United Way fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in every community.

The United Way of Knox County is an independent, locally controlled, non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors elected from Knox County, Illinois, that provides support to 21 programs at 14 human service agencies in Knox County.  Knox County United Fund was incorporated in June of 1954.  Then in November 1972, we began operating as United Way of Knox County, Inc.

VISION STATEMENT:

United Way of Knox County envisions a community where all individuals and families achieve their potential through education, income stability and healthy lives:

  • Where all children receive a quality education that offers a pathway to a brighter tomorrow
  • Where the cycle of poverty and financial dependence ends and more productive lives begin
  • Where everyone receives effective health care that improves their quality of life.

OUR MISSION:

To strengthen Knox County Communities by fostering volunteer action, building resources and caring for individuals.
